  there's been quite a number newspaper articles quoted over the past week, but i would recommend this as a good summary of the first three days of the royal commission hearing in australia - complete with some scathing commentary.. apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but have not seen this posted previously.. https://www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/law-crime/2015/08/01/royal-commission-examines-jehovah-witnesses-cover/14383512002194.

  just one thing that is not quite right is that the article refers to joe bello as a narrogin elder.

  the assualts took place while the victim was part of the narrogin congregation.

  Should we put children with their families in open campuses with unvetted young males?

  Remember the big earthquakes in Italy and other places? The relief effort was overwhelmed so people lived in tents or less for months. Same for the REAL refugees in the middle east and Africa

  Nobody ever said to 8gnore the others who sneak in or overstay. But it is a fact that a predominate number come across the mexican border.

  No one on here has proposed closing the border, vetting those already here and legalizing them. When I am dictator that is what I will do. LOL. And only people I like can have guns

  Pete. If dems want the border secured why do they want open borders. Cant have both. As for compassionate, the funding for detention is not adequate, lots of citizens are separated from kids when they go to army, jail. You name it.

  The wall may be ineffective but ALL nations have walls, sometimes to keep people in.

  Obama may well be a charming speaker, but to me he is a snake oil salesman, Trump is more a blunt doctor who speaks his mind.

  this is the kind of stuff that crosses over into tinfoil hat territory, but you can't help but notice it.. did anyone else see gary breaux in this month's broadcast doing that weird "hand diamond" thing over his bible?

  he was also wearing a pinky ring.

  Pinky rings when I looked them up denote membership in a group most often. Maybe a magic ring for the GB? one thing is they will never tell us, and any explanation will be a lie

  This Year's "Love" Conventions -- The JW Version of "Love-In"

  reports from the locals who attending the recent "love never fails" convention reported little-to-no references to the more brutal jw doctrines, i.e.

  no mentions of the blood ban, no mothers refusing to take phone calls from her estranged daughter, no bunkers, etc.... just lots of "warm and fuzzy" videos featuring loads of hugging and tears at places across the globe.

  Those pictures are not the best artwork, even without the subject matter. 1966 headbands and ( gasp) beards, It was embarrassing to even let anyone see them, and we were supposed to highlight the covers at the door.

  People cant figure out that projects done with volunteers cost more than hiring contractors? There is no proof that the money claimed for support of missionaries or whomever is really spent, or how much goes to scotch

  I remember that savings deposit thing. 10000 went to the society and was supposed to be available for emergencies in the congregation. When seats were needed they took in pledges I wanted to raise my hand and ask what happened to that 10000

  I think the money came from a bro who inherited a large amount. As I remember right after the inheritance there was 20000 quietly showed up. The elders sent 10000 right away as a donation, then the deposit thing came along. I am sure as I can be without questioning anyone that the donation was meant as a cushion for a poor congregation that was always having the electricity shut off
